Description
The Doocot, located at 10 The Doocot on the Coll Earn Castle Estate, is a cylindrical dovecot likely designed by William Leiper and dated 1874. It is constructed from rubble with ashlar dressings. The structure features a door with inset sculptural panels facing four directions, including a sundial on the southwest side. The north side has flight-holes above the panel, which is adorned with an inscribed lintel and carved blocks on either side. The moulded eaves enhance its architectural detail. The slated roof is topped with a single decorative lucarne and a tall weathervane finial.
