Description
Drummond Castle features a large 4-storey and attic keep, measuring 43 feet by 37 feet, which dates back to around 1490. Attached to the keep is a 2-storey and attic south wing, constructed in 1630 and 1636 under the direction of master mason John Mylne III. The building has undergone significant alterations, including dilapidation in the later 17th century, repairs in 1715, partial demolition in 1745, and a partial rebuild in 1822. It was made habitable again in 1842. The northern wall has been newly arched due to the demolition of the northern section. Most of the interiors are Victorian, with the exception of the ground floor.
