Royal George Hotel, 51 George Street, Perth

The Royal George Hotel, located at 51 George Street in Perth, is a mid-19th century building that has undergone later additions and alterations. It features a three-storey and attic Victorian Renaissance facade, which is painted and includes two canted bays with decorative iron parapets on the ground and first floors. The facade is adorned with lugged architraves and a central doorpiece with an arched fanlight. Above, there is a cantilevered first-floor balcony that is balustraded and topped with ball finials, and a pedimented window opening that leads onto the balcony. The second floor has three windows, complemented by a cornice and blocking course.

Additionally, there is a later 19th-century facade facing George Inn Lane, which is two storeys high and designed in a Renaissance style. This section has a painted, pilastered ground floor featuring two arched windows and a central door with a keystone. The first floor has three windows with blocked architraves and raised quoins.

The building also has a plain three-storey and basement L-plan frontage to Tay Street, which includes modern additions.
