Description

St Matthew's Church on Tay Street in Perth was designed by John Honeyman and completed in 1871. It features a first pointed architectural style with a three-aisle layout and a tall tower and spire that rises 212 feet above the river. The tower is flanked by stairhalls at the transepts. Inside, the church has a five-bay nave and a galleried interior supported by cast-iron columns. A prominent rose window is located at the west end of the church.
