Description

George P K Young 1899. Renaissance of JJ Burnet type.

3-storey with modern set back attic floor, 7-window

(originally 4) to High Street, 8 to Tay Street, end bays

advanced and channelled, corner bay with aediculed drum and

dome above. Ground floor arched, 3 in Roman Doric pilasters

Tay Street frontage, 2 on High Street main entrance on centre

bay of that frontage, blocked doric columns, crouching

figures at entablature broken segmental pediment. 1st floor

windows elaborately treated with key blocks and pediments;

dwarf red sandstone. Ionic order 2nd floor, balustraded

parapet, Modern W. addition returning facade into Watergate

1957-58.
