Description
All Saints' Episcopal Church in Glencarse was dedicated in 1878 and designed by Mr. Blackadder of Perth. It features an English domestic style with a north-west timber-framed appearance and internal Gothic details. The church has a cruciform plan that includes a nave, a chancel with a canted apse, an organ chamber, and vestries. It has a solid base course with pitch pine and cement infill above, and a timber-framed porch that showcases Gothic detailing, including a carved bressumer that overhangs the transept window. The exterior has Georgian glazing, while the interior features reticulated tracery. The roof is steeply pitched and includes a bellcote at the west, topped with a steep pyramidal roof. Inside, there is a rood screen from 1897 designed by Rev E Sugden, and the pulpit was carved by Mrs. Agnes Watson of Inchyra and Miss Caroline Greig. The stained glass is primarily by Hardman of Birmingham, with two windows created by Meyer of Berlin.
