Description

Later 18th century with later alterations. 2-storey and attic single bay square-plan house, sited to centre of small square, with single storey lean-to bathroom extension to E. Harl-pointed rubble (harled addition).

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: timber panelled door, set to left, at ground; window at 1st floor above. Blank elevation of lean-to addition to left.

W ELEVATION: blank.

S ELEVATION: window, set to left, at ground; window at 1st floor above.

E ELEVATION: window at ground to centre; window at 1st floor above. Window, set to right, in lean-to addition to right.

12- and 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Old Orkney Grey slate roof; stone ridge; rooflight to E and W pitches; stone skews; rubble corniced multi-flue gablehead stack to S; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: architraved timber panelled doors; timber skirtings; spiral timber staircase with timber banisters, handrails and newel posts; painted cast-iron handrail to attic.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND RAILINGS: rubble square-plan gatepiers with stepped rubble caps flanking timber gate sited in garden wall to S; low rubble wall sections flanking with painted wrought-iron railing sections; high rubble wall with rounded rubble cope enclosing rectangular-plan garden to SE; fluted cast-iron lamp standard within wall to SE angle.
