Late 18th to early 19th century with later alterations and additions. Rectangular-plan row of 3 cottages comprising 2-storey over basement, 3-bay symmetrical gable-ended cottage to E (number 1), adjoining 2 storey and attic 2-bay asymmetrical cottage to centre (number 3), adjoining single storey asymmetrical 4-bay cottage to W, built on ground rising to W. Pointed rubble with painted cement margins to openings to No 1 and 3; No 5, harled. 1st floor windows to number 1 set close under eaves.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: No 1: deep-set part-glazed timber panelled door at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Small basement window in bay to right; window at each floor above. Window at each floor in bay to left. No 3: deep-set part-glazed boarded door at ground in bay to right; small window to 1st floor above. Window at each floor in bay to left; gabletted dormer window above. No 5: modern door in bay to right of centre. Window in each remaining bay.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: No 1: single bay. Window, set to centre, at each floor. No 3: single bay. Small window, set to outer left, at each floor; gabletted dormer above. No 5: single bay. Window , set to outer right, at ground.

E ELEVATION: 2-bay gable end (No 1). deep-set boarded basement door in bay to left; window at ground above. Window at each floor in bay to right. Gablehead stack.

W ELEVATION: single bay gable end (No 5). Stone flight to timber panelled door, set to left; gablehead stack above.

Variety of glazing patterns, including 2- 9- and 12-pane timber sash and case windows. No 1: Caithness slate roof; stone ridge; stone skews; corniced rubble gablehead stacks. No 3: grey slate; slate to dormers; stone ridge; cement skews; common harled corniced ridge stacks. No 5: grey slate; harled coped gablehead stack. Predominantly uPVC rainwater goods.
