Description
This is a circa 1843 single-storey gate lodge, designed by David and James Hamilton, originally built as a lodge for St Fillans house, now the Manor Park Hotel. The lodge’s north elevation is constructed of droved ashlar with polished dressings, although the east wall and a modern addition to the south are harled. The north elevation features a gabled central porch constructed of ashlar, with a modern door and window set within shouldered and keystoned openings. The bays to either side are recessed, with the left bay set more deeply, and contain margined windows with plate-glass sashes. A band runs along the eaves and lintel, and the eaves are deeply projecting. The roof is piended and covered in platform slates. The west elevation has a single central window within a projecting gabled bay. Originally named St Fillan's Lodge, it retains some original features indicative of its group value.
