Post Office, Boisdale House, South Lochboisdale, South Uist

Boisdale House, located in South Lochboisdale on South Uist, was likely built mostly in the first half of the 19th century. It is a single-storey building with attics, arranged in a U-shape around a courtyard. The structure is primarily made of rubble, with some harled sections, particularly on the courtyard and the west elevations, as well as the south gables.

The west elevation features three southern bays, with the inner bay being advanced and gabled, complete with end stacks. There are two additional bays to the left. The east range has an east elevation that includes three single-storey bays and three taller bays with windows located only at attic level, along with a forestair leading to the courtyard. The north range houses the Post Office, which has a central south-facing door flanked by two windows. The windows are small-paned sash types, and the roofs are covered with slate. There are also outbuildings located to the east and south-west of the main house.
