Lochmaddy, Lee View Formerly Maclean's Mansion

Lochmaddy, Lee View, formerly known as Maclean's Mansion, is a significant former merchant's house built around 1800, with alterations likely made in 1852. The building suffered fire damage and had its roof removed in 2008. It is an imposing two-storey, five-bay structure located by the waterside, accompanied by a pier and an ancillary building. The exterior is harled with tusking on the west gable, and many openings are blocked or boarded, featuring corniced gablehead stacks.

The entrance elevation faces south and includes a small roofless square stone porch to the left of the center, which has a datestone above it. There is another door to the right of center, while three windows on the first floor are blocked. The north elevation has asymmetrical openings, with a stair window positioned to the right of center.

Inside, as observed in 2009, the ground floor shows significant fire damage, revealing some red brick partitioning. There is a simple timber stair with banisters, along with some four-panel timber doors. Evidence of a 12-pane glazing pattern can be seen behind the boarding. On the first floor, one room features a plain cornice and a simple timber fire surround with a cast iron inset.
