Description
Dated 1852, 204 Findhorn is a two-storey, three-bay house facing west. The front elevation is constructed of ashlar, with coursed rubble on the flanks, and features polished ashlar dressings. A gabled porch obscures the central doorway, and provides access to a side entrance and a bipartite window to the front. Flanking the main entrance are further bipartite windows with bracketed cornices. The jambs and lintels of these windows are decorated with two rows of cable moulding that terminate in carved tassel ornamentation. Three gabletted dormers interrupt the wallhead, each with moulded surrounds and ornamented pediments. The windows are fitted with two-pane and four-pane glazing, and a bullfaced base course runs along the base of the building. Masked skewputts, corniced end stacks, and a slate roof complete the exterior. A low coped garden wall encloses the property. Unusual carved decoration is applied to the ashlar frontage.
