Description
This is an early 19th century house located at 124 Findhorn. It is a two-story, three-bay building facing south, with a small single-story wing projecting at right angles from the east gable. This wing creates a front court or garden, enclosed on the remaining west and south sides by coped walls. The house is constructed of heavily pointed rubble, with tooled ashlar margins and dressings. A central doorway leads into the property, and it features re-instated four-pane timber sash and case windows. Coped end stacks rise from the roof, which is covered in slate. Modern box dormers have been added to the rear elevation.
Inside, a semi-circular staircase rises through the house, featuring slender turned wooden balusters. The stairwell projects into the rear dining room. The ceilings have simple plaster cornices. The survival of the staircase with its original balustrade is notable.
