Description

  1. H M S Mackay, 2-storey asymmetrical house;

harled, stone margins and band courses. T-plan with

rear wing. Entrance elevation on long (S) arm of T,

central door in chamfered architrave; projecting 2-storey

bay to right with chamfered angles corbelled to square at

parapet, canted ground floor window to left. 2-storey

canted bay on gable end of cross wing. Multi-pane

glazing. Corniced end stacks; slate roof.

Drum tower with conical and fish-slate roof to rear wing.

Square ashlar gatepiers with pyramidal caps and banded

ball finials; cast-iron gates. Rubble walling with

dressed stone cope.

Re-used 17th century flat-headed bolection moulded

doorpiece frames pedestrian gateway in wall.
