Description

The Dovecot at Dalvey House is a tall square structure dating from the 17th century, featuring rubble with ashlar dressings. It has a narrow entrance located in the center of the south elevation, which is framed by chamfered jambs. A rat course encircles the building, with an additional course across the east and west gables. The dovecot is adorned with crowsteps and has two small swept dormer flightholes on the south side. The roof is made of later West Highland slate. Notably, a coat of arms has been re-set in the west gable. Inside, there are 889 stone nesting boxes.
