Description
Telford Bridge, located over the River Spey in Craigellachie, was designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1814. This single span cast-iron bridge features four rib segmental arch rings that spring from tooled granite abutments. Crenellated circular turrets flank the approach causeway on the south side, while similar turrets are found at the north end, where the abutments are integrated into the cliff side. Lattice-girder braces connect the arch to the carriageway. The bridge has a modern metal parapet and spans 150 feet (45.7 meters).
