Description

A pair of ice houses dating to the early to mid-19th century, built to store ice for preserving salmon destined for markets in England. One ice house sits within a linked mound covered with turf and features a single vaulted chamber of considerable height, with a concrete-framed doorway centrally located on its west side. The other ice house has a side entrance. Both are accessed via a small building constructed of rubble and covered with a corrugated-iron gable roof.
