Description
Orchard House is a mid-19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay house located on Orchard Road in Forres. The center bay is slightly advanced and features a block pediment, architraves, and a cornice with console brackets above the door. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, including long and short quoins, a band course, and a cill course on the first floor. The ground floor has tripartite windows, and there are two modern gabled dormers on the slate roof.
Surrounding the property is a high rubble garden wall topped with dressed stone coping. The low front wall also has coping and is adorned with cast-iron fleur de lis railings. There are a pair of low channelled ashlar gatepiers with shallow pyramidal caps at the entrance.
