Description

The Manse in Dallas is a house designed by architect John Wittet from Elgin in 1905. It is a south-facing, gabled, asymmetrical three-bay structure built with tooled coursed rubble and tooled ashlar dressings. The central entrance features a door with a projecting canted window to the left and a tripartite window to the right. Above the entrance, the first-floor window is set under a round-headed gablet topped with a ball finial. The other first-floor windows are bipartite, and the upper lights of the sash and case windows have multi-pane glazing. The house has attenuated apex finials, coped end stacks, and a slate roof.
