Description
Thornybank is a house dated 1759, likely incorporating earlier elements. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure facing south, with a long single-storey wing at right angles to the west gable. The exterior is harled, and the central door is obscured by a modern glazed sun porch. The windows are regularly arranged on both the front and rear, with surviving grill seatings in the ground floor jambs and lower first-floor windows. The rear elevation features windows in the outer bays and a central stair window, along with small attic lights in each gable, all with four-pane glazing. The house has end stacks and slate roofs.
Inside, there is a wide curved stone staircase, with treads that are likely re-used. No other original features remain.
