Description
Craigmin Bridge, associated with Letterfourie House, was designed by Robert Adam in the later 18th century. This high picturesque structure features a two-tier design, with a lower single span supporting a double span above. It is constructed of rubble with tooled rubble dressings. The arch rings are also made of tooled rubble, and the upper pair of arches are connected by a mural passage, which includes a shallow round-headed niche in the upper spandrel. The bridge has end buttresses and an undulating low rubble parapet, although it has an unfortunate later concrete coping. The lower arch spans 36 feet 6 inches, while the upper arches each span 28 feet.
