Description
75-79 Main Street in Pathhead is a mid 18th century, two-storey, four-bay rectangular-plan cottage that has been extended at the rear. The exterior features painted modern harling with stone quoins on the left, projecting cills, and skew gables with painted margins.
On the southwest elevation, No. 71 is a two-storey, two-bay structure with a stone door surround at the center and a replacement door. To the right is the entrance to No. 73, which also has a two-storey, two-bay design. The far right of No. 73 features a square window with a painted ashlar surround.
The northwest side elevation has two diagonally placed windows with painted surrounds and a skew gable. The northeast rear elevation includes modern restored two-storey housing surrounded by a stone boundary wall.
Most windows have replacement two-pane timber sash and case glazing, and both No. 71 and No. 73 have a replacement grey slate roof. Replacement rainwater goods are installed on each property.
The interior, which has not been seen since 2000, includes No. 71, which was previously a shop, and No. 73, both now serving as private housing.
