Description
The cantilever crane at James Watt Dock in Greenock was built in 1917 by Sir William Arrol and Co Ltd for the Greenock Harbour Trust. This 150-ton capacity crane is made of steel and is located on the south side of the dock. It features a lattice girder tower that supports a roller track, allowing for the rotation of an asymmetrical cantilever truss gib. The crane also includes a motor room and a counterweight at the short end.
