Description

The Custom House in Greenock is a two-storey building constructed from ashlar stone in a classic style. It features a 13-window façade and has tetrastyle porticos in the Greek Doric order on the north and east sides. A large, simple central staircase leads into the building. Inside, there is a 'Long Room' that is adorned with Ionic screens. The building was designed by architect William Burn in 1818, with Kenneth Mathieson serving as the contractor.
