Description

The Cloch Lighthouse in Inverkip was designed by engineer Robert Stevenson, with Thomas Smith as the engineer in charge. It was built between 1796 and 1797. The lighthouse features a white circular tower with a black band, rising 84 feet above water level, and includes Gothic details. There are also ancillary buildings that are one to two storeys high, mostly constructed at a later date.
