Description
The Loch More Bridge, spanning the River Thurso, was built between 1830 and 1840. It is a rubble bridge featuring twin arches, with dressed stone used for the arch rings and triangular cutwaters. The bridge has a dressed rubble parapet, pierced by small drainage vents positioned above the centre of each arch. The approach to the bridge is slightly splayed, and the overall span measures approximately 60 feet. The bridge's design is similar to that of Westerdale Bridge, another structure over the River Thurso dated 1834.
