Description
This is a 17th or early 18th century dovecote, constructed of rubble stone in a beehive shape, divided into four stages. It features a wide circular opening at the apex, serving as the pigeon entrance. The dovecote has three roughly dressed rubble courses and a coping stone at the apex. A low entrance is located on the east side, leading to a slightly sunken floor with a low ledge encircling the base. From this ledge, 350 stone nesting boxes extend upwards to the apex.
Adjacent to the dovecote is a walled garden, likely dating to the earlier 19th century. The garden is square in shape and has walls built of rubble stone with stone slab coping. Entrances are situated on the north and west sides. The west wall is broken near the center to accommodate the dovecote.
