Description

Nigg Mains is a steading from the earlier 19th century, designed in a hollow square layout. It is constructed of rubble with tooled rubble dressings. The center features a round-headed arched entrance with blocked imposts, a blind vent above, and set pigeon flightholes in the pedimented gable. The building has various piended dormers and loft entrances, topped with slate roofs of differing heights.

The granary, also from the early 19th century, is a long two-storey structure with seven bays, presenting long elevations to the east and west. It is built of rubble with tooled ashlar margins. The west elevation features a double forestair in the center, flanked to the south by a large slapped door. There is a piended loft entrance in the south gable, along with small loft vents at wallhead height, and it is covered by a piended slate roof.
