Description
This is an 1820s ferry house, a small, single-story rectangular building with three bays. It overlooks a slipway and Loch Duich. The building is constructed of harled rubble stone, with rounded corners that are corbelled outwards at the wallhead. Some windows contain eight panes of glass. A later projecting porch has been added to the centre. A central ridge stack rises from the roof, which is covered in slate and piended. A rubble slipway is present. The ferry house was originally thatched, and the wallhead corners were corbelled to accommodate the slate roof when it was added later. It connects the south of Loch Duich with the north at Dornie. Additional information can be found in the New Statistical Account, volume 14, page 207.
