Description
This is an earlier 19th century house with a mid-19th century addition to the south gable, known as Milton House and Ord Cottage. The buildings are constructed of red rubble with contrasting yellow sandstone dressings.
Milton House is a two-storey and attic structure with three bays, the central bay containing a masked front door. A glazed porch, dating to around 1900, now occupies this position. The roof is slate-covered and features two piended dormers. The windows are 4-pane sashes. The building has panelled and corniced end stacks. A low retaining wall, topped with cast-iron spearhead railings, runs alongside.
Ord Cottage is a single-storey and attic building with three narrow bays. The ground floor includes a modern glazed front door and two windows to the right. A single piended dormer rises through the wallhead. The windows are 4-pane sashes and the building has a panelled end stack and a slate roof.
Ord Cottage is listed for group value only.
