Description

Lower Foyers Bridge, built in 1862 by engineer George McKay, is a high single span bridge made of tooled rubble that crosses the Lower Foyers gorge. It features a tooled ashlar segmental arch ring, a pulvinated string course, and a parapet cope. The parapet is fitted with a modern safety fence. A datestone with a crest is located in the center of the north face above the arch. The approximate span of the bridge is 70 feet.
