Description

Memorial Cottage, located in West End, Cawdor, was designed by A. & W. Reid in 1881. This single-storey and attic dwelling features an E-plan layout with five bays facing south. The building is constructed of rubble with tooled rubble dressings. It has a central projecting porch flanked by windows, and the outer gabled bays further project to create a gabled porch with segmental-headed entrances on the east and west elevations. The cottage includes small attic gable windows, 8-pane glazing, and scolloped bargeboards topped with decorative wooden apex finials. It has coped paired ridge stacks and slate roofs.
