Description

The Walled Garden at Old Urray in Urray dates back to 1814, with a porch added in the style of William Robertson in 1833. Further repairs, additions, and a garden wall were completed by William Robertson of Elgin in 1838, with additional work done in 1853. The building is two stories with an attic and features three bays, along with extensive additions to the rear. It is constructed of pinned rubble with ashlar dressings and harled flanks that have contrasting painted margins.

The central feature is a projecting porch with a pediment, angle pilasters, a central window, and a side entrance. The ground floor has flanking bipartite windows, while there are three flat-headed dormers and single windows on both the ground and first floors of the east and west gables. A large addition to the rear creates a double pile structure with a piended roof and a later rectangular bay window on the ground floor of the east gable. The building mainly has 12-pane glazing, with margined end and wallhead stacks, and is topped with slate roofs.
