Description
24-26 Tower Street is a mid-19th century terrace building that was raised to three storeys around 1870-1880. It is constructed of ashlar stone with long and short quoins and features dressings on the first floor. The ground floor has been altered to accommodate shops, with additional windows and doors inserted. One original tripartite window remains on the ground floor at the left, and there are four further windows separating the ground floor doors. The outer bays on the first floor contain two tripartite windows, and a lintel band spans the entire elevation. The third floor rises into the attic, with outer bipartite windows, all topped with finialled gables. There is a central wallhead stack with paired flues, which is corbelled at the third floor cill level, along with end stacks. The building has a slate roof.
