Description
3 High Street in Tain is a building dating from around 1830. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay façade made of painted ashlar stone. The building features a well-designed symmetrical shop front with pilasters and two round-arched doorways. The first floor has bold long and short dressings at the angles and around the window margins. There is an eaves band and cornice, along with a central piended dormer and a pair of later canted dormers on the outer sides. The windows are 4-pane sashes, and there are panelled end stacks, one of which is truncated. The roof is covered with slate.
