1 View Place, Tain

1 View Place in Tain is a pair of two-storey and attic houses built around 1825. Each house features a wide three-bay front with central doors. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble with tooled dressings. Each house has two piended dormers and No 2 View Place includes a glazed timber porch. There is also a wing at a right angle to the gable, which has a narrow elevation and an entrance to Ankerville Street. The rear (north) side has wide three-bay elevations facing Ankerville Street, each with a central stair window. Modern ground floor windows have replaced the original tripartite windows, although one of these original windows survives in the west bay of No 2. The houses have end stacks and slate roofs. Additionally, there are square dressed rubble gate piers with square caps, along with spearhead railings and a gate.
