Highland Regional Council Headquarters, Ardross Street, Inverness

The Highland Regional Council Headquarters, designed by Alexander Ross in 1875-76, is a two-storey building with an attic, featuring a Collegiate Gothic style. The slightly advanced center of the building has a crenellated parapet and gable ends, with a pend arch at the center. At either end, there are quadripartite windows on the first floor that connect the ranges, alongside bipartite windows. A string course runs along the first floor, and the first floor windows are adorned with Gothic lights. The attic features cusp-traceried rose windows. Additionally, there is a long south range that is two storeys and an attic high, which includes the former headmaster's house at the southern end. An extension, also designed by Alexander Ross, was added to the west end in 1885.
