Description
Woodlands House, also known as the Old Manse, was built in 1799 with small additions made in 1838 and further alterations by William Munro of Inverness in 1855. This two-storey building features an attic and has a three-bay core, with additional wings at the rear and south front, creating a roughly cruciform layout. The exterior is harled with ashlar margins, although some margins are rendered. The central bay of the early manse is obscured by a large two-storey, single-bay gabled wing added in 1855, which includes single wings on the ground and first floors to the south and west. The 1855 gabletted entrance is located in the eastern bay of the original house. There are two original piended dormers, along with one single-storey and one two-storey wing at the rear, both consisting of two bays. The building mainly features 12-pane glazing, with corniced ridge and end stacks, and has a slate roof.
