Description
Heatherlie is a house dating to circa 1900. It is a single-story building with an attic, facing east, and is asymmetrical in design with a three-bay, U-plan. The exterior is harled with extensive mock timber framing. A glazed veranda fills the recessed central space, concealing the entrance. A tall, slender octagonal tower rises from the southern angle of the U-plan, featuring a panelled upper stage and a facetted fish-scale steeple, terminating with decorative cast-iron finials. A canted bay is present to the right gable, topped with a lunette. The long south elevation includes a projecting bow window with a bowed piended roof, also featuring fish-scale slate detailing and multi-pane upper lights. Decorative tiled ridges and finials adorn the building, which has a slate roof. The building formerly operated as a bank.
