Description

Dated 1888. 2-storey Gothic detailed villa, asymmetrically

planned on prominent corner site. Main elevations red stugged

ashlar with polished yellow dressings. SE elevation with

wide gabled bay at right, projecting square 3-light window

at ground, 2-light window above underpointed head with

initials MR; to left wide canted ground floor window, above

tripartite breaking eaves with blind cusped heads set

into gable; crests in balustrading over ground floor windows.

Porch in SE re-entrant angle, timber with tiled roof and

brattishing (latter with sunflower detail). Dormer head

above. Projecting gabled bay NE similarly detailed to SE.

All gables with cast-iron finials. Slate roof, coped stacks.

Banded gatepiers with truncated pyramidal caps, crenellated

boundary wall.
