Description
This is an early 19th-century rubble bridge consisting of two arches of differing sizes. The wider and higher arch spans Forss Water, while the second serves as a flood arch over a field. The arches are faced with dressed rubble. Triangular cutwater-buttresses flank the arches, and low dressed rubble parapets run along the bridge's sides. Drainage vents are positioned above the centre of each arch. The overall span is approximately 60 feet. The bridge is referenced in John Hume’s The Industrial Archaeology of Scotland (Volume 2, 1977, page 192).
