Description

This is a mid- to late 18th-century house, originally symmetrical in design with five bays and two storeys. It is a double pile building, meaning it has two rows of rooms. The front is harled (roughcast) with ashlar (dressed stone) margins, painted and chamfered on the south side. A modern glazed sunporch now masks the central doorway. Windows on the first floor are found in the east and west gables, with one window blind (non-functional) on the west side. The rear elevation has irregular window placement and longer first-floor windows, featuring paired small, blind oculi (round windows) in the centre. The windows are fitted with 12 panes of glass. A lean-to porch fronts the rear entrance. The building has a cavetto moulded eaves cornice (a decorative moulding) on both the front and rear, renewed end chimneys, and a West Highland slate roof.

Attached to the east side of the house is a long, two-storey early 19th-century range of harled rubble dwellings, currently unoccupied. This range runs north/south and is detached from the main house. A short section of garden wall connects the dwellings to a small, harled pyramidal dovecote/poultry house located in the north garden. The dovecote has a central door at its base and a loft door on the first floor, with a pyramidal roof completely covered in ivy.
