Description

Mid 19th century pair cottages fronting U-plan steading,

forming enclosed court.

Cottages; pair single storey, 3-bay harled cottages, now as

single dwelling. Symmetrical south front of 2 doorways

flanked by windows, entrance to west masked by small modern

lean-to porch. 4- and 12-pane glazing; centre ridge and

shaped end stacks; piended slate roof.

Steading; U-plan, made up of 3 single storey and loft random

rubble ranges north, east and west; tooled rubble dressings.

Paired basket-headed cart bays in centre of south facade of

north range with centre loft loading door breaking wallhead

above, and flanked by stable accommodation. Ranges to east

and west with byres and barns; slit wall vents; louvred

windows; slate roofs.
