Description
Old Leanach Farmhouse is a mid-19th century single-storey cottage featuring a traditional four-bay design. It is constructed from drystone boulders with rounded angles, a buttress at the northwest corner, and turn walling in the gable heads. The south elevation has an off-centre door and small windows. There is a small gabled wing to the southwest. The roof is piended and thatched with heather, having been re-thatched around 1982.
Inside, the farmhouse has four pairs of crucks (couples), three of which are reconstructed in whole or in part. These crucks are jointed at the elbows and pinned with wooden pegs. The floor is made of stone flags.
