Description
The Church of Scotland Manse in Strontian was designed by Thomas Telford in 1827 and has undergone later alterations. It is a standard single-storey Parliamentary manse with an H-plan layout and a five-bay south front. The building is constructed of rubble with painted tooled ashlar dressings, and some sections have harling on the flanks and rear. The central door is flanked by later canted bay windows, which are linked by a slated canopy to form a porch. The windows in the advanced outer bays have been lengthened to function as French windows. The east elevation features three later piended dormers with modern glazing, paired coped ridge stacks, and a slate roof.
