Description
Riverdale, located at 17 Island Bank Road in Inverness, is a building designed by Alexander Ross in 1864, constructed from ashlar stone. It is two storeys high with a three-bay south front. The central doorpiece features a consoled cornice, while the left ground floor window is a canted bay window, and the right window is bipartite with a consoled cornice. The first floor has round-arched windows, with the outer two being bipartite. The west front also has three bays, with the outer two ground floor windows being tripartite, pilastered, and corniced, while the first floor mirrors the south front's design. The building has bracketted eaves. Surrounding the property are garden walls made of rubble, complemented by ashlar gatepiers topped with pyramidal caps.
