Description
This is an early 19th century traditional Caithness croft complex, arranged in an L-shape. It consists of several rubble ranges, originally built with cruck construction. The main dwelling house, of a longhouse type, faces southwest with a byre occupying the southeast bay and a gabled entrance that was formerly accessed from the kitchen. A barn and stable range extend at right angles to the dwelling, enclosing a garden. An additional L-shaped range, one arm of which backs onto the garden, includes a later 19th century hen house, wash house, and cartshed. The dwelling house has two doors, small windows, ridge and end stacks, and a rush thatched roof. The henhouse and workshop range are also thatched, while the remaining roofs are covered in corrugated iron or asbestos.
