Description
This is a small, two-story, three-bay house, likely dating from the early to mid-18th century. It was rebuilt on its present site in 1801, as evidenced by a plaque above the central door, which features simply chamfered jambs and is inscribed and dated 1801. The house is constructed of rubble, with re-faced ashlar dressings, and has crow-stepped gables and end stacks. The roof is covered in Caithness slate. A small addition is present on the north gable.
Adjacent to the house is a large rubble walled garden with an ashlar cope. A plaque on the garden wall records that it was “Removed from the other side of the burn. Rebuilt by JCS (or JES) of Forse. 1801.”
