Description
The site includes a small, two-storey, three-bay house and a walled garden located within the grounds of Forse House. The house itself is built of rubble harl with ashlar dressings and was re-built in 1801 on its current site, although its origins are in the early to mid-18th century. The central doorway has simply chamfered jambs and an inscribed and dated plaque set above. The building features crowsteps, end stacks, and a Caithness slate roof. A later addition exists on the north gable.
The walled garden is enclosed by large rubble walls topped with an ashlar cope. A plaque within the garden records that it was rebuilt in 1801 by JCS (or JES) of Forse, having been moved from the other side of the burn. The statutory address for the listed structures is Forse House Hotel, the small house to the rear, and the walled garden.
