Description

The stables at North Corry Farm in Kingairloch date from around 1800, with later additions. This single-storey building features an attic that breaks the eaves and has a rectangular plan with three bays. The exterior is harled with squared rubble courses, and it includes gabled windows that also break the eaves of the upper storey. The eaves are overhanging, with barge-boarding on the gables and projecting stone cills at the openings.

On the principal elevation, there is a regular arrangement of windows, and a modern glass conservatory is attached to the central doorway. The upper storey has three broad gabled windows that break the eaves.

The rear elevation has a door located to the centre right, with a small gabled dormer above that also breaks the eaves. There is a single-storey, three-bay gabled outhouse attached to the centre left, which features a gable stack in the centre, a door in the middle, and flanking windows on the right return, along with a gabled window breaking the eaves on the centre of the left return.

The north side elevation is a blank gable end, while the west side elevation has windows in the left bays of both the ground and upper storey.

The interior was not seen in 2001. The building has modern plate glass windows with top hoppers and modern 12-pane windows. The roof is covered with grey slates and lead flashing, and there are coped gable stacks with clay cans.

The stables are a single-storey, five-bay structure with a long rectangular plan and gabled roof, built from random rubble courses. It has two-leaf boarded timber doors and a corrugated iron roof.

The barn is also a single-storey, five-bay, symmetrical gabled building with a rectangular plan, constructed from random rubble courses. It features a two-leaf boarded timber door at the centre within a broad segmental arch entrance, with ventilation slits in the flanking bays. The barn has a corrugated iron roof and coped skews.

The gatepiers and courtyard wall consist of stone drum piers topped with low pyramidal caps, made from random rubble courses.
